How the Post Office gagged postmasters with false confidentiality claims
The Post Office is finally paying compensation to the thousands of postmasters who it falsely accused of theft in the 2000s. Most of these postmasters are unrepresented, and have been pushed into accepting settlement offers that are insultingly low. How did the Post Office achieve this? By intimidating postmasters into not comparing offers with each other, not speaking to friends and family, and not going public. All by falsely asserting that the offer letters were confidential – an assertion that had no legal basis.
